Cubera Private Equity appoints Urs Bitterling to new sustainability lead role

Cubera is pleased to announce that Urs Bitterling has been appointed to the newly established position of Chief Sustainability Officer at Cubera. In this new role, Bitterling reports directly to the CEO and is a member of Cubera's leadership team. He joins Cubera from Allianz SE.

Sustainability is a team effort at Cubera, and Bitterling will be responsible for directing and integrating ESG activities across the firm's existing and new fund of fund strategies.

"We are excited to welcome Urs as our first Chief Sustainability Officer, as we further elevate our longstanding focus on ESG, to deliver sustainable value and superior returns to our clients. His combination of sustainability expertise, financial sector experience, and track record of success in agile environments is ideal for where we are aiming to go.", says Till Gutzen, Co-Founder & Senior Partner at Cubera Private Equity.

"I am grateful to join at this exciting point in time for sustainable finance in general and Cubera in particular. With the existing Impact fund of fund strategy, we have a strong foundation to further scale sustainability as an organization and - most importantly – across all our private equity fund of fund strategies.", says Urs Bitterling, Chief Sustainability Officer at Cubera Private Equity.

An experienced ESG leader within the financial industry, Bitterling joins Cubera Private Equity from Allianz SE, one of the largest financial institutions globally, where he has developed and led sustainability efforts since 2012. He holds an interdisciplinary Doctorate from the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences, Vienna, where his research focused on climate governance systems in Europe.
